Shine FAQs
Read below for answers to the questions we hear most ahead of Shine Celebration. If yours isn’t covered, email us at events@mplswaytogrow.org and we’ll get back to you before the big night.
What time should I arrive?
Check-in for our Shine Celebration begins at 5:30 with a reception, silent auction, raffle, and entertainment, with dinner and our program beginning at 7:00pm.
Is registration required in advance? What is the deadline to register?
Registration is required in advance, with no tickets available at the door. The deadline to register is Friday, October 9.
What does a ticket include?
Ticket includes a reception with passed hors d’oeuvres and entertainment by Salsa del Sol, dinner, and program.
Is my ticket, donation, or auction purchase tax-deductible?
Of each ticket price, $100 is tax deductible. For auction items, you can deduct anything paid above fair market value. Per Minnesota law, raffle tickets are not tax deductible. We’ll send every attendee a receipt to make tax time easy.
What's your policy on refunds, cancellations, or weather delays?
Tickets are non-refundable. If you can’t make it, gift your ticket to someone and let us know who’s joining us in your place. If you’d rather not, your ticket becomes a tax-deductible donation to Way to Grow. In the event of inclement weather, keep an eye on your email for updates.
Is the venue wheelchair accessible?
Both the Shine Celebration and The Depot are wheelchair accessible. If you use a wheelchair or need specific seating, let us know in advance at events@mplswaytogrow.org so we can prepare a spot for you.
What's on the menu, and can dietary restrictions or allergies be accommodated?
Dinner is a three-course meal with a plated salad, your choice of entree, and dessert.
- Braised Short Rib Milanese is an 8oz portion in a rich veal demi-glace (GF/DF), served with green beans (GF) and garlic mashed potatoes (GF).
- Rosemary Chicken comes with a lingonberry demi sauce (GF), green beans (GF), and garlic mashed potatoes (GF).
- Butternut Squash Ravioli is our vegetarian option, tossed in a brown butter sage cream with pumpkin seeds and craisins, served with green beans (GF).
For dietary restrictions or allergies, email events@mplswaytogrow.org.
Where do I check in when I arrive?
Check-in is located outside the Pavilion at The Depot, shown on the event map at the top of this page.
Is there a coat check?
There isn’t a coat check, but you’ll find public coat racks in the registration area, which is staffed throughout the event.
Will alcohol be served, and what payment does the bar take?
Yes, alcohol will be served. It’s a cash bar that accepts both cash and cards. Two bottles of wine will also be placed on each dinner table to share.
How do I bid on auction items, and how do I pay for anything I win?
Silent auction bidding happens on your own phone or device through OneCause. Anyone who registers on OneCause can get an early start when the silent auction opens Wednesday, October 21. Silent auction winners check out at the end of the event and receive their items and receipts on site.
For the live auction, you’ll receive a numbered bid card at registration to raise for bidding and Fund-a-Need. Live auction winners will be contacted after the event to arrange payment and receipt of items.
Since silent auction bidding happens on your phone, make sure it’s charged before the event, or bring a charger or battery pack just in case.
How do I participate in the raffle?
Join the fun with our raffle! Tickets are $50 each and open to guests 18+. Per Minnesota law, purchases may be made by cash, check, or debit card only (no credit cards). Don’t miss your chance to win exciting prizes while supporting Way to Grow!
Will photos or video be taken at the event?
Way to Grow will take photos and video throughout the evening for use in our marketing and communications, both during and after the event.
Who do I contact with questions?
