Recently, Way to Grow welcomed a team from PNC Bank for a special visit with our preschool students.

Earlier this year, PNC Bank donated a new SMART Board for our preschool classroom. When they stopped by, the team had a chance to see it in action and spend time learning alongside our students.

What followed was a morning full of stories, creativity, and plenty of smiles!

A Morning of Learning and Connection

Together, the PNC team joined our preschoolers for story time. They read How Rocket Learned to Read by Tad Hills, a story about curiosity, listening, and discovering the joy of learning. Then it was time to get creative! The group made colorful paper chicks from paper plates and construction paper, shared conversations, and spent time alongside the kids as they explored and created.

Before the visit ended, students received take-home bags filled with books, math manipulatives, growth charts, fidgets, and other learning materials families can enjoy together at home.

What a SMART Board Makes Possible

Our students and teachers have already been putting the SMART Board to good use! Young children learn best when they can see, touch, move, and interact with ideas. The SMART Board gives our educators another tool to bring lessons to life through movement, creativity, and exploration. The whole classroom has been having fun discovering new ways to learn with it!

The visit also reflected something Way to Grow celebrates every day: children thrive when caring adults show up for them. Whether it’s a teacher, family member, Family Educator, volunteer, or community partner, relationships help make learning meaningful.
